I’m always on the lookout for travel items that I think would make our trips and vacations a little bit easier. Since we live in Utah, we don’t get to head to the beach very often. So when I came across this beach blanket on Amazon, I knew I had to get it and try it out in preparation for some future beach trips.

This beach blanket by Rayan Deluxe caught my attention because it folds up so small! It can literally fit in your pocket. Since we don’t go to the beach that often, this was a huge feature for me because that meant it wouldn’t take up a lot of space when we store it for future trips. It comes with a clip you can hook onto your back, belt loop or bike to easily take with you.

Another think I liked about this blanket is that it came with stakes! 4 small stakes are included with the beach blanket which is perfect to keep that blanket down when a breeze comes by. If you’re actually on the beach, the sand is usually soft enough to easily put the stakes in without too much work and they stay down fairly well.

Now for a few things I didn’t love about this beach blanket. I thought because it was made of nylon that it would not pick up sand like towels do. (On their Amazon listing it also states that it is sand resistant). But when we were testing this blanket out at a local reservoir, sand definitely stuck to the bottom of the blanket. The top seemed to be sand resistant. But it was really annoying to have to shake out the blanket to fold it up and still have sand stuck to the bottom of it.

The other thing that I didn’t love about this beach blanket is the fact that you can’t fold it up as small as they send it to you. You can still fold it up tiny, but it definitely sticks out of the top of the little bag it comes in.

And lastly I feel like the size is not as big as I was picturing. Even though I read the dimensions, the pictures on the Amazon listing are kind of misleading. When we took it out and unfolded it, it is definitely smaller than I imagined.

So if you’re looking for a great beach blanket, this one is good for it’s compatibility and the fact that it comes with stakes. But for it’s price point, I feel like you could get a better quality blanket. I bought it when they were offering a significant discount. And if you can snag it when it is down to about $11 (which is what I paid), I feel like it is at a better price point for what you get.
