WOW Scotland Invergordon Tour Review

For one of our other ports in Scotland, at Invergordon, we booked another tour. This time, instead of using Rabie’s, we used WOW Scotland. It was definitely a different experience than our Rabbie’s tour, but we were still able to see a lot of really neat things in our short, 1 day tour.

What We Did Saw:

Brodie Castle

Brodie Castle was our first stop along our tour. It was a small castle that you are guided through. It is definitely not what you think of when you hear the word “castle.” It is an old Scottish clan castle that is part Victorian and part medieval. Brodie Castle was continuously lived in by descendants of the clan until the early 2000s. It has a really cool library and lots of stair climbing.

Battle of Culloden

Next we headed to the Battle of Culloden. This is a big open field where a major battle took place between the Britts and the clans of Scotland. We were there with a tour guide who showed us around and gave us the history of the site which was nice. It probably wouldn’t have been so great if you were just there on your own. There is a visitor’s center there and they do have guided tours. There is an area that has the clan stones to remember the clans who fought in the battle. So if you have Scottish family and know your clan, this could be a neat photo opportunity.

Clava Carins

This was a pretty cool and unexpected stop on our tour. It’s basically stone circles similar in idea to Stonehenge that no one knows anything about! You can see our full post about it here.

Loch Ness

Need I say any more about Loch Ness? Probably the most famous areas of Scotland due to the illusive Nessie, the sea monster. Check out our full post about Loch Ness here.

Ben at Loch Ness

Inverness

This is a cute city with lots of shops and neat architecture. It’s right on the river and has lots of churches around. There is a castle and a very old cathedral. We didn’t have much time in Inverness so we only went to some shops and got a snack while we wandered around. But Ben would have really liked to go to the castle if we had had time.

WOW Scotland Invergordon Tour Review:

This was definitely a very different experience than our Rabbie’s tour. We were in a much larger group on a full tour bus. We were shuffled quickly from place to place and didn’t spend too long at any site. It was nice that we got to see a lot of things, but the speed was just not our style of traveling. They are a very reputable company and have good reviews so I totally felt safe using them as a tour guide. Their prices were definitely higher than Rabbie’s, but we did more things and didn’t have to pay entrance fees or for lunch.
